When you book a cleaner, you're trusting someone with your home, your keys and your privacy. We take that seriously: at Kleen, being trustworthy and thorough isn't a slogan but part of how we work, from the first conversation to handing your keys back.

Vetted cleaners

• Police clearance certificate. Every cleaner holds a recent official certificate of good conduct, which we're happy to show you.
• Personal selection. We meet everyone in person and check their previous work before they visit a client.
• Trained in our methods. Every cleaner works to the same detailed, room-by-room checklist and the same rules.

The same cleaner every time

With regular cleaning, the same person comes every time. They get to know your home, where things go, what to look out for and what you'd like done differently. You don't have to explain everything again, and you never have to let a stranger in.

If your cleaner is ill or on holiday, we tell you in advance and let you choose: we move the visit, or send another vetted colleague who has been briefed on your home. We never send a stand-in without your OK.

Our key protocol

If you'd rather not be at home during the clean, we handle your keys by strict rules:

• We sign for your keys when we receive them and when we return them.
• Keys never carry your name or address, only an internal code, so a lost key can't be traced back to your home.
• When not in use, they're kept locked away and only ever go to your own cleaner.
• We never copy them and never hand them to anyone else.
• You can ask for them back at any time and we'll return them at a time that suits you.
• We're equally happy to use a key box or smart lock; only your cleaner knows the code.

When we leave, we always check that the windows are closed and the door is locked.

A photo report after every clean

At the end of each clean we send a short photo report by email or message: a few before-and-after shots of the main rooms and a couple of lines on anything we noticed (a dripping tap or a blown bulb, say). So you know exactly what you got, even when you're not at home.

The photos only show the surfaces we cleaned: we don't photograph personal belongings, documents or people, and we never use the photos for anything else. See our privacy policy for the details.

Discretion

• We only open drawers and cupboards or move personal belongings when you ask us to.
• We never talk about who we work for, and never publish photos of your home.
• Your cleaner never brings anyone along and stays focused on the job.
• We're happy to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Thorough, to a checklist

Every service has a detailed checklist, room by room. We work top to bottom and clean to dirty, and reach the places a quick clean skips: switches, door handles, skirting boards, the base of the taps. Satisfaction guarantee

If you're not happy with anything, tell us within 48 hours, ideally with a photo, and we'll come back and put it right free of charge. No arguing, nothing to prove. And if something is ever damaged during a clean, we'll tell you straight away and settle it fairly. The exact conditions are in our terms and conditions.
